Here are some frequently asked questions about interior painting.
How much does interior painting cost?
Before searching “interior painters near me” there’s some things about cost to consider.
The cost can vary on a few factors such as the square footage of the interior painting needing to be done.
Also, if there is prior damage to the interior walls they will have to be repaired before the painting can proceed.
This, among other things will increase the cost.
So the cost of your interior paint job can only be determined by having one of our professional painters look at your situation and consider these factors.
Can old interior paint be painted over?
Yes.
The trick to painting over old interior paint is primer. And not just any old primer. Good primer.
What’s a good primer? Our professionals will be happy to tell you. Give us a call!
Remember, if you do decide to paint over old interior paint make sure you wash, repair, sand, prime, and apply two coats. In that order!
How long should primer sit before starting to paint interior walls?
Almost any interior latex primers will dry to the touch within 30 minutes to 1 hour.
But! Do not paint the interior walls until the primer has dried thoroughly, which can be up to 3 hours.
Also note that cool temperatures and high humidity will extend drying times on your interior walls. So be sure its completely dry if that’s you.
Do interior walls need anything done to clean them prior to painting?
Yes they do. We recommend to dust and clean the interior walls with a towel or a vacuum cleaner.
If your interior paint job includes the bathroom or kitchen area wash the walls with a solution of three teaspoons laundry detergent mixed with one gallon of water.
Also, try to scrape off any cracked or flaked paint with a paint scraper.
Of course you could always have us do it!
We know trying to find a company that meets your needs can seem like an uphill battle. We've been doing this for years. We've worked hard to build a reputation we can be proud of. And we have.
